13th annual Latin American gaming exhibition

SAGSE 2005 OPENS IN BUENOS AIRES

After two years in competition with a rival gaming industry show with overlapping dates, SAGSE opens its doors today for its 13th annual exhibition in Buenos Aires and back to its place as the only show in town. All the giants of the sector are present plus many newcomers to the event that showcases the products and services available for and by the Latin American market. This year things have proved to be more hectic than usual for the exhibitors arriving to set up their stands. The presence of the Heads of States from the Americas, including George Bush, for a meeting last weekend, and the subsequent protests, have meant a chaotic start to SAGSE Buenos Aires 2005.

The exhibition and conference runs from 9 – 11 November at the Centro Costa Salguero, and this year the show is larger than ever with an extra pavilion and new events. A strong marketing campaign has brought new industry suppliers from Europe and Asia as Latin America is one of the top growth markets for the gaming industry. New legislation in Chile and the bidding process for the 17 new casino resort licences has instigated a Day for Chile at the exhibition. Another innovation is the cycle of conferences ey!05 – Encuentro Yogonet, the first of which starts today with a panel of top gaming industry executives.

Record attendance is anticipated at this year’s exhibition where more than 160 national and international companies are exhibiting their products and services. SAGSE Buenos Aires is the largest gaming show in a region where the market is showing phenomenal growth, and both suppliers and potential buyers recognize that it is an ideal place for business. Amongst newcomers exhibiting at the show are ACE A&G from South Korea, with an impressive computer generated horseracing game, and Boss Gaming with an innovative electronic roulette designed to satisfy the demands of casino operators.

The SAGSE gaming show in Buenos Aires has long been one of the highlights on the global gaming calendar. This year it promises to be better than ever. (E-11.09.05)
