Last week Ainsworth Game Technology announced a half year profit of A$3.1 million (US$2.3 million), compared to a loss of A$2.0 million (US$1.5 million) for the corresponding period to 31 December in 2004. Sales revenue increased by 15%, and foreign sales brought 78% of total revenue.
Executive Chairman, Mr Len Ainsworth, said he was pleased to be able to announce an improvement in company profitability. "I was confident that given the international opportunities of gaming, an improvement would be achieved in the 2005-2006 financial year." Sales in the Americas over the period continued to grow and contributed 40% of total revenue.
Ainsworth returns as Silver Sponsor at the Caribbean Gaming Conference for the third year in a row. Terry Usendorff, Vice President of Sales for the Americas said: “Latin America and the Caribbean region are key markets for us; because we have such strong relationships in the region, Caribbean Gaming is an essential part of our marketing program. Nothing else delivers our target audience quite as efficiently.”
The Caribbean Gaming & Hospitality Conference 2006 takes place at the brand new Puerto Rico Convention Center, June 13-14. Seminars will address the consequences of regulation on regional expansion, weather-dependent marketing, disaster management, and security and surveillance. The event organizers have indicated that Early Bird Registration is still available online at: www.caribbeangaming.net (E-02.27.06)
