Planet Hollywood Resort Casino

LINDA RONSTADT WOULD RETURN TO THE ALADDIN

As the Nevada Gaming Commission unanimously approved the conversion of the bankrupt Aladdin casino resort in Las Vegas to become the first resort casino property for hip operators Planet Hollywood, speculation grew when the company’s CEO Robert Earl remarked that as supporters of the rights to free speech the company respected the right of artists to express themselves, and that singer Linda Ronstadt would return to the Aladdin.

Earlier this year, executives of the distraught Strip property cancelled Linda Ronstadt dates after she dedicated a song to Farenheit 9/11 filmmaker Michael Moore, who immediately after joined the fray and offered to take up the stage at the Aladdin with the singer.

We cannot discount such a double bill, as Planet Hollywood moves into the Strip with plans to invest 100 million dollars in the property, where the first stage will consist of upgrading the dining room used by 2,600 Aladdin employees.

In the interim, and while the property undergoes a change of personality, Earl indicated that the resort could be marketed as “ The Aladdin becoming Planet Hollywood.”
