Sharing knowledge with operators at Slot Academy

Aristocrat Europe makes Progressive stand

Aristocrat Technologies is opening up its vast gaming experience, spanning more than five decades, with the staging of the first Aristocrat Europe Slot Academy for slot managers. Taking place at the company’s west London headquarters this week, the exclusive gathering will host professionals from over 20 casinos across Europe for three days of intensive training and analysis of advanced slot strategies.

The inaugural master class is set to explore why and how games perform on the casino floor and develop techniques to optimise the player gaming experience and drive gaming floor revenues, with guidance and tips from some of the global industry’s most renowned experts in their field. Boasting combined gaming knowledge of more than 90 years, Aristocrat’s four keynote presenters are Global Games Strategist John Willis, Global R&D Creative Director Bill Cormack, General Manager of Developing & Emerging Markets Peter Gardner and Global Technology Consultant Gareth Phillips.

Responsible for establishing this new initiative, Aristocrat’s Head of Sales for Central Europe Pedro Extremera stated: “Our experts have field experience in every conceivable gaming environment anywhere in the world, feeding back their knowledge directly into Aristocrat’s games design and development function. By sharing technical know-how and exploring local practices, we aim to help our customers find new ways to enhance their slot revenue streams and build bottom line profitability.”

Next week Aristocrat Technologies is set to stage a double European launch of its first-to-market Triple Standalone Progressive (TSAP) concept at the 2010 International Gaming Expo with the feature-rich Hillbillions and Hi Octane games making debut appearances on stand 3415 at the London show. Extending its support for Double Standalone Progressive (DSAP) play options, Aristocrat will also be unveiling its Spring Festival title, a new base game for the jungle-themed Banana King DSAP.

Both Viridian TSAP video slots offer players the chance to win one of three progressive jackpots which are displayed in the top LCD screen, in addition to payouts earned from the base game and compelling themed bonus features.

In 20-line plus 10-credit antebet Hillbillions, the colourful character Billy the Hillbilly takes players on a fascinating journey through the culture of American mountain folk with four unique features, three progressive jackpots and a thrilling game. The “gold pannin’” jackpot feature can be struck at random at the end of any bought game for a chance to win one of the three jackpots or a bonus prize. Hitting three gold coin scatters while playing with the Hillbillions bonus antebet triggers at random one of the three Hillbillion bonus features; “Log Roll”, “Going Fishin’” and the free games, all designed to have players jiggin’ for joy with Billy – Yee hoo!

A 25-line game with 5-credit antebet, the adrenaline-fuelled Hi Octane mixes fast-action motoring mayhem with triple jackpot-chasing opportunities. In addition to a tyre-scorching base game with a 15 free games bonus feature, players can also be revved up by the Hi Octane ante bet “race feature”, an interactive, second-screen “trophy race” feature in which players put their foot to the floor for an extra shot at one of the three progressive jackpots. Each randomly selected trophy race has an associated jackpot level. Players compete for the jackpot or a place prize by selecting the race car of their choice. Jackpots can also be randomly won during any bought game.

Christian Colus, Aristocrat’s head of sales for Southern Europe, said: “Standalone progressives add greater game depth and variety to slot floors without complexity and at cost-effective rates. Introducing three jackpot levels and extra bonus features brings further excitement and anticipation for players as they close in on big wins, whose values when revealed help create those all important climactic highs.” (E-01.18.10)
