Aristocrat Technologies, Inc announced in Las Vegas this week that it had been awarded a licence by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to supply casino equipment to gaming operations in the state. Australian-based Aristocrat and its US subsidiary are two of the first six companies to be granted manufacturers’ licences. Some of the 14 slots operations to be licensed in Pennsylvania are expected to start in the fall.
The Board voted unanimously to grant Aristocrat Technologies one of the first six licenses to be a manufacturer of slot machines and associated equipment for the state’s new gaming program. The Gaming Control Board received an additional seven applications for the first phase and will address those at a later date. Gaming machine distributors, required under the Pennsylvania gaming law, have yet to be granted licences as some aspects are still under discussion by the Board.
