As the organizers of gaming show SAGSE CentroAmerica point out, Panama is much more than its canal. The capital is the most cosmopolitan and dynamic city in Central America and the Colon Free Zone in the north of the country is the largest free zone on the American continent. Add to that the magnificent luxury resorts and equally magnificent San Blas archipelago of 365 mostly unpopulated islands, and Panama is a veritable Paradise on Earth.
Casinos, electronic casinos and bingo are all part of the Panama scene, making it an outstanding venue for exhibitors, buyers and gaming operators. SAGSE CentroAmerica, which opens today at the Atlapa Convention Center in Panama City, attracts professional visitors from around South and Central America and the Caribbean, and exhibitors from around the world. From ACE A&G of South Korea and Ainsworth of Australia to Yogonet of Argentina and Zero Labs of Russia, the list of gaming manufacturers and service providers - both great and small - seizing the opportunity to showcase their products in Latin America is immense.
This morning, before the exhibition starts, the III American Congress of Gaming Regulators will be held. Gaming regulators from around the region will be present to hear the opening speech: ‘Central America as the new engine of gaming business in Latin America.’ The main topic for discussion will be whether there is too much or insufficient gaming legislation in Latin American countries. The Expo doors will open to visitors at 2:30 pm. SAGSE CentroAmerica 2006 runs today and tomorrow, May 26th. (E-05.25.06)
