Elizabeth Leiva, the organizer of the Caribbean Gaming Show & Conference 2011, successfully completed a 3-day visit to Buenos Aires, and announced to the media the completion of her third project in the Caribbean, for the CGS 2011, to be held in the Dominican Republic next March.
Leiva said: “This time there will be the addition of the Lotteries and online gaming sectors, with leading international companies already reserving booths for CGS2011, and confirming their presence at "The Biggest Caribbean Exhibition”. The reception for this third work project by C&GS Group has been greatly welcomed in the region, as our group’s efforts have been very important, proving once again that the work done is recognized and appreciated, and that the international market do support with great enthusiasm and expectation, our new business proposals.”
Leiva added that “the speakers’ panel for the V Latin American Gaming and Lotteries Conference is being organized and is headed by former Assistant Director General of the National Lottery of Panama, Erick Cataño, who will bring an interesting proposal to create regional lottery, picking up the concern of some of their counterparts in countries of the region. We are receiving various regional authorities, in charge of the lottery in their countries. The history of gambling will be an interesting topic, because we will know the roots of the same, and brief anecdotal notes that have been recorded in the histories of each country. The passion for lotteries has transcended the settlers and become part of the Caribbean locals’ habits, increasing the excitement for them. In a way, gambling became centuries ago, an excuse for men to get together in their leisure time, and brought them happiness or misfortune. How much we have progressed in the last 500 years? It will be an enriching session. Visitors will also know the reality and projections of Lotteries in each Caribbean country, and finally what to expect from the new technology and consumer public's response. We are working with experts to develop the workshop led to the lottery market too.”
As for the proposal put forward by the Vice-Minister of Treasure of the Dominican Republic to create the Caribbean Gaming Association, at last March’s Conference, Leiva added, “it must be reported to the international market that we have ready the draft Constitution and Agreements of aforementioned Association, which will be reviewed by the authorities and participants of the past conference, for approval and signature in March 2011.”
As always advancing and overcoming its own results, the organization is improving the development and commercial proposal for the company´s work, and due date is counted with major sponsors such as the Dominican Casinos Association, Dominican Gaming Board, MEI, Sielcon Unidesa, Casinos de Latinoamerica, El Diario del Juego, etc.
Leiva continued: “In addition, we are extending the offer to the heading of lotteries and online gaming, more and more popular and widespread in the region. Also, the workshops focus attention devoted to good practices and responsible gaming, and new technologies for the operations of casinos, online games and lotteries. On the matter of corporate social responsibility in gambling, certain principles will be addressed, as this is becoming part of regulatory requirements in most countries of the region. Responsible gaming gives the audience the opportunity and security to enjoy great design games in safe environments and appropriate. Our workshops focus on social responsibility practices, covers 3 aspects, such as 1) design; 2) transparency of behaviour; 3) customer support.
“These 3 major areas of social responsibility are part of a larger scope, which may include compliance, codes of conduct, age limits, social impact initiatives, etc., and will cover topics as extreme as the design of gaming facilities and on the other hand, the game design. Also, customer support, that is related to all practices that help staff understand player behaviour so that they work on the ability to help with any request for assistance. If we can pass on practical applications that would increase social responsibility, to share some literature that educates more specifically to operators, delivering updated news of the gaming world, databases, statistics, problems, and ultimately promote an opportunity for discussion between operators, authorities and manufacturers, we will have added another success to our management.”
Leiva concluded: “The formula for the Caribbean Gaming Show & Conference success is the hard work and discipline it takes to organize the event, creativity and dedication to every detail, to offer to exhibitors and visitors, the results they bet. Finally, a cordial invitation to all entrepreneurs interested in expanding their business into the Caribbean region, to visit CGS2011.
