BETONSPORTS PROGRESSES IN Q1

BETonSPORTS plc, one of the world's largest US and Asia-facing online gaming companies, reports KPIs for the first quarter to 6 May 2006 indicating that the strong tempo of performance building through last year's quarter 4 is being maintained.

There is confidence within the company that the business is now seeing the benefits of the investments made in infrastructure changes and management enhancement over the last fifteen months. The casino and poker profit centres are progressing as planned and providing the basis for increased numbers of customers playing in more than one product. Further infrastructure investment is expected to underpin the progress made in the business and enhance the capacity to drive cross selling opportunities.

Business highlights • Customer deposits US$48.3m (Q1 2006: US$20.9m) up 131% • New real money sign ups 9,126 (Q1 2006: 4,001) up 128% • Customers playing more than one product 28.4% (Q1 2006: 21.6%) up 31.5% • Active players 49,199 (Q1 2006: 28,310) up 74% • Gaming bets15.6m (Q1 2006: US$6.2m) up 150% • Bet volume US$735.1m (Q1 2006: US$271.2m) up 171% • Gross win margin US$26.0m (Q1 2006: US$15.8m) up 64% • Gross win % margin 3.5% (Q1 2006: 5.8%).

To sustain the momentum established in casino and poker over the last two quarters it is planned to further support the re-positioning of the business with an extension of marketing expenditure in quarters two and three. David Carruthers, Chief Executive of BETonSPORTS plc said 'Our acquisitions are proving the scalability of the business model. Change has taken time to bed down but the indicators point to substantive progress and a confident start to the year. Looking ahead, we consider we have cause for careful optimism.'

BETonSPORTS is one of the world's largest on-line gaming companies, offering sportsbook, casino and poker. The company was admitted to trading on AIM, London Stock Exchange, in July 2004. The Group gained its first Internet sportsbook operating licence in Antigua in 1997. At the peak of high season in the financial year ended 5 February 2006, it had over 1,600 employees in Antigua, Costa Rica, Malaysia and the United Kingdom.

BETonSPORTS.com has been ranked the number one sportsbook by a number of leading industry organisations, including the Offshore Gaming Association (OSGA), and the International Sports Book Council (ISBC). Over 40 million gaming bets were placed with the Group in the financial year ended 5 February 2006. This equates to more than 75 bets accepted per minute, and approximately 90% of all the bets received were taken over the Internet. (E-05.19.06)
