Earlier this week the Gaming Administrators Association of Panama (Asaja) revealed that casinos and slots operations had made a net profit of US$170 million from 2000 to 2006, paying the equivalent of 75% of all bets in prize money. Today Asaja will be amongst those organisations, manufacturers and service providers represented at SAGSE Centroamerica, the gaming conference and expo for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The show, which opens at 2 p.m. local time this afternoon at the Atlapa Convention Center, is being sponsored by the UK company Betstone. Tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. the IV American Congress of Gaming Regulators will take place. Regulators from Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Panama, Costa Rica and Colombia have all confirmed their presence at the event.
Gaming industry giants and newcomers are exhibiting at SAGSE Centroamerica and visitors, industry professionals from around the region, will arrive to see, compare, and purchase. It is claimed that Panama, with its vibrant gaming industry, is the perfect location and outstanding venue for bringing together exhibitors, buyers and gaming operators. (E-06.14.07)
