Jobs and quality gambling brought to border city

Big Bola opens in San Luis, Mexico

Described by the San Luis Director of Economic Development as a ‘breath of oxygen’ for the municipality, the opening of the 14th Big Bola casino in Mexico has brought some 80 new jobs and additional indirect employment for 300. Pablo Navarro went on to say that it was the fourth casino in San Luis but the biggest, most complete and best designed, and that it improved the image of its surroundings.

Big Bola operates a chain of casinos in various Mexican states and has invested US$6 million in the new venue in the northern state of Sonora, close to the US border. At last Thursday’s launch a ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by the local mayor and casino executives. According to the company, the casino will bring the Las Vegas experience south of the border.

The modern design of Big Bola is expected to attract a young clientele and the restaurant is run by a local chef offering Italian and Mediterranean cuisine not available elsewhere in San Luis. 300 gaming machines, roulette and sports betting with large screen viewing and a lobby-bar offer a high standard of entertainment. Local products and services have been used wherever possible in the construction and operation of the Big Bola casino. (E-09.21.09)
