Colombian gaming fair opens this week

FADJA 2006 IN BOGOTA

It seems that the 8th Feria Andina de Juegos de Azar (FADJA or Andean Gaming Show) is being acclaimed throughout Latin America and Europe as going to be the best ever. The industry fair will be well attended later this week, as visitors and manufacturers gather in Bogotá, Colombia’s capital city, for the exhibition that opens over 29 and 30 March.

The Colombian Lottery Federation FEDELCO, which includes the most influential lotteries in the country, will celebrate its 35th General Assembly during FADJA 2006, and 26 managers and administrative officers from the state lotteries will gather to debate the future in the light of recent proposals to modify the law. FEDELCO will initiate proceedings at 9 a.m. on Wednesday 29 March in the Salon de Protocolo de Corferias and a press conference will be held at 2 p.m.

FADJA 2006 will hold the public inauguration at 2:30 p.m. and the exhibition will open its doors half an hour later in Pavilions 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15. The Lottery Federation will be at Stand 47 during the show and will be informing visitors, by means of video presentations, of the social work undertaken by the Colombian lottery organizations. There will also be prize draws and gifts available.

Already there is a great deal of activity in the free trade zone of Corferias, as merchandise and containers arrive for the show. So far over US$2 million of equipment has been received from near and far. This year there are six Eastern European companies exhibiting and thirteen from Argentina, as well as big names in the global gaming industry. Important operators from Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Panamá, and Brazil will be joining Colombian colleagues at what promises to be a most successful gaming industry exhibition.

FADJA 2006: 29 – 30 March at Great Hall of Corferias, Bogotá, Colombia.
