The organizers of the 8th Feria Andina de Juegos de Azar (FADJA 2006) in Bogotá have announced that the show had a record number of visitors and exhibitors, sales and potential client contacts. One extremely happy exhibitor was the President of London-based Boss Gaming, Linda Monzon, who was travelling on from FADJA to other Colombian cities to close contracts for her company’s elegant electronic roulette.
The acquisition of the one Boss Gaming electronic roulette on display at FADJA was hotly disputed amongst prospective buyers, and the company has agreed to accelerate production and produce another 12 units by the end of the month. The decision to exhibit at the show was made at the last moment and Boss Gaming has been overwhelmed by its success. As Linda Monzon commented,” We are still in shock! We are a young company and our decision to invest in exhibiting in Colombia has shown a remarkable return.”
Across the aisle from Boss Gaming a mini cinema was constructed to show Korean company ACE A&G’s 30 terminal virtual horseracing system. During the two days of the event, extra chairs had to be brought for the numbers of visitors queuing at the stand for a turn at trying their luck. So popular was the ACENET ASCOT exhibit that the company organized a competition with a prize for the eventual winner, and the display system was purchased by Colombian company Ovni for a casino being constructed in Bogotá. Two further systems will be going to Montecarlo Gaming S.A. for casinos in the provinces.
Organizer of the show, José Anibal Aguirre of 3 A Producciones, said that the Free Trade area of Corferias reported national and international merchandise to a value of nearly US$2 million had arrived for the exhibition, and that around three-quarters had been from companies showing for the first time. This afforded him great satisfaction and motivation in preparing for an even bigger FADJA exhibition in 2007. (E-04.07.06)
