A gathering of giants

LGE 2004 OPENS IN BUENOS AIRES

For a start Buenos Aires must be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The parks and streets are outstanding, the food excellent, but outshining everything is the warmth and hospitality of the Argentineans. This is only my second visit to the city and both have been to attend the industry shows at La Rural and Costa Salguero, but I have found time to get to know a little more about the place and her citizens. I could spend much longer here, years even, and would recommend Buenos Aires to everyone!

Yesterday the Latin American Gaming Expo 2004 opened its doors. Most of the industry giants were there alongside the up and coming gaming companies; the well known brands together with the lesser known aiming to carve themselves a niche in the market – even the giants started out small. South America has a thriving and innovative gaming industry in manufacturing and in services, and their products are increasingly appreciated in the wider world.

Business meetings and business deals create a buzz at the show as international companies meet the buyers from around the world. From architecture and décor to slot machines and software solutions, the LGE 2004 exhibitors cover a wide range of products and services. Latin America is appreciated as an expanding gaming market that may be about to get bigger if proposed gaming regulations in Chile and Mexico become law.

Tomorrow it is the turn of SAGSE 2004 to open, for two days the two shows run concurrently. So, companies big and small come to Buenos Aires in November, as do the gaming professionals to see the latest developments and products on offer. There is plenty to lure everyone connected to the gaming industry, but perhaps the biggest lure of all is the enchanting Buenos Aires.
