Mobile Blackjack

CELLULAR TELEPHONES AND ONLINE GAMING

After the September 15 announcement by Nokia that they were introducing the N-Gage QD Challenge Mobile Gaming Championship it looks like the aptly named (giving forth flashes of light; glittering) Coruscant Tec is going one better.

Both companies are after the highly lucrative upwardly-mobile (no pun intended) young Indian market but whereas Nokia's championship is limited to Indian cities, Coruscant Tec's Blackjack World Championship will be available from mid-October to international cellular operators. All mobile telephone models that support Java will be able to run the Blackjack competition.

Coruscant Tec was set up in 2003 by its Managing Director, Ajay Adiseshann, who holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Boulder's University of Colorado. It is an Indian mobile data content and applications firm that has joined with Jersey based ADLM Ltd, a holding company for several Online casinos, to develop and distribute casino-type mobile games.

They name the following aspects as credentials for their gaming entertainment division:

* Rich experience in Mobile and Wireless domain and in-depth market know-how.
* Proven competence in developing mobile games.
* The ability to provide quality, cost-effective software technology solutions using a wide array of technologies and processes.
* Proven technical experience in working on different wireless and mobile platforms like J2ME, WinCE, Symbian.
* Strong application management experience with a proven capability in Productivity applications and Games.
* Separate disciplines for Strategy, Technology and Delivery to ensure streamlined focus.
* Approach to Quality, based upon the philosophy that Quality has to be driven as an organisational culture placing the onus for delivering quality on each team member assigned.
* A truly global company with a worldwide global client base and strong alliances with world leaders in the technology field.

The international Blackjack competition will be run worldwide and the scores will be posted over General Packet Radio Service (GPRS). The company say that Blackjack will just be the first of several games to be offered to customers.
