One week ago Century Casinos Inc announced it had extended its existing agreement for the casino concession onboard three Oceania Cruises vessels for five years. Today the company has released details of additional slot machines, anniversary celebrations and interior design improvements at its land-based casinos. The international casino entertainment company has casinos in Colorado, Alberta, and the Czech Republic. It also owns or has interests in and management contracts for two casinos in South Africa and seven casinos and a slots venue in Poland.
The first anniversary of the Century Casino and Hotel in Central City, Colorado is being celebrated over the whole of July with special promotions and higher paying slot machines. The floor area has had a total makeover and an expanded video poker section features a 29-machine linked bar progressive. Also in Colorado, Womacks Casino and Hotel in Cripple Creek is undergoing complete remodelling. The redesign and improvement of the gaming floor is scheduled to be completed before Christmas.
The Century Casino and Hotel in Canada’s Edmonton has been granted permission to increase the number of slot machines. The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission is allowing the company to install an additional 54 gaming machines, bringing the total to 654. The Caledon Hotel, Spa and Casino in South Africa has also increased the number of slot machines recently.
The company’s common stock trades on The NASDAQ Capital Market and on the Vienna Stock Exchange. In its latest review of financial results, published on 10 May 2007, the company declared first quarter net operating revenue of US$21.14 million compared to US$9.47 million for the same period of 2006. The stated vision of Century Casinos is to become the leading company in the regional mid-size casino market worldwide. To achieve this it actively pursues the development of new gaming opportunities and reinvests in the success of its existing properties. (E-07.11.07)
