Announcing strategic plans for expansion and acquisition opportunities in the gaming sector in last September’s Report and Financial Statements for the six months ended 30 June 2004, Cubus Lux Plc Chairman David Gray declared total revenues of £168,000 (US$291,260) and a pre-tax loss of £80,000 (US$138,760) for the six-month period. The casino operator has now opened its third casino in Croatia, at the Narcis Hotel in Rabac.
Casino Las Vegas at the Histria Hotel in Pula has been the core operation for Cubus Lux. The company sponsors Pula 1856, a Croatian Premier League Football Club, and Casino Las Vegas features prominently in national and local media. At the time of the Report and Financial Statements, issued 28 September 2004, Cubus Lux had just opened its second casino on the Istria Peninsula at the Belvedere Hotel in Medulin.
The company was incorporated in May 2004 and changed its name to Cubus Lux Plc by special resolution of the members. Less than one week later the company bought Cubus Lux d.o.o. registered in Croatia. It is reported that the company has entered a three year agreement to operate the casino at the Rabac Hotel, with an additional three year option. Rabac is also on the Istria Peninsula, some 30 miles north of Pula. All three casinos are known as Las Vegas Casinos, which is said to be Croatia’s fastest growing casino group. The company also has a casino television game on Istria local channel, Nova. (E-07.20.05)
