The North East’s largest casino, Aspers at The Gate, is continuing its tradition of pioneering ground-breaking casino games with the European debut of Double Action Roulette, a new game that offers a unique variation on the format of traditional Roulette. Developed by world-renowned casino games manufacturer TCS John Huxley, Double Action Roulette features two contra rotating number rings on a single wheel, delivering two winning numbers from a single spin. The table consists of two identical betting areas, one for each set of numbers, as well as the Double Action area, which allows players to place side bets on double numbers occurring, offering odds of up to 1,200 to 1.
“We always aim for UK firsts here at Aspers, but I think this is our first European debut,” said Richard Smith, General Manager of Aspers at The Gate. “This new Roulette game is great because it offers something new and exciting, while also being based on a well-known format, which makes it simple to grasp for customers and dealers alike. We enjoy a strong working partnership with the team at TCS John Huxley and we’re very impressed with the concept of Double Action Roulette. In particular, the tables will provide more excitement for our customers whilst staying within the standard rules of roulette.”
Based on the famous Mark VII Roulette Wheel, one of TCS John Huxley’s most enduringly popular products, the new game requires no specialist dealer training or additional staff to operate. The table itself has also been carefully laid out to accommodate the additional betting area and Double Action zone, ensuring that customers will be able to pick it up immediately.
“As the busiest provincial casino in the UK, we have worked closely with Aspers at The Gate for many years and we’re very excited that this will be the first venue to host Double Action Roulette,” said Adrian Brennan, Operations Director Europe of TCS John Huxley Europe. “This is a wonderfully simple concept that we have taken time and care to develop, ensuring that it will meet the rigorous quality standards casino operators have come to expect. It’s not often we are able to deliver a brand new, innovative product that requires no additional approval or staff development, so we are confident that casinos in all jurisdictions will take an interest in this game.”
Double Action Roulette is now installed on the gaming floor in Aspers, where it has proven a big hit with players, including some intrigued individuals who are new to the game.
“There’s been a lot of talk about it, especially as our Roulette regulars are really enjoying the new format, so the word is spreading” said Alan Barnes, Head of Gaming at Aspers. “The double track layout certainly adds an element of excitement and, if you’re brave enough, the chance to win big on the double number bets.” (E-03.04.11)
