AMEX 2008 SET TO WELCOME VISITORS

The 29th Irish Gaming and Amusement Trade Exhibition will open in Dublin on Tuesday, 4th March. It is believed that Justice Minister, Brian Lenihan will decide soon what action to take in relation to the report from the Casino Regulation Committee. Many involved in the industry are hopeful that this will result in the necessary legislation to develop the industry being enacted. The recent developments in Ireland indicate that in addition to exhibitors and visitors from the gaming and amusement sectors, there will also be considerable interest in AmEx 2008 from those involved in the casino and betting sectors.

There is expected to be considerable interest in gaming, particularly in the light of current activity and many new gaming products will be shown, making this an important show from both a gaming and amusement point of view. Amusement, novelty and redemption games continue to play an important role in the growing Irish coin-op market and jukeboxes, pool tables, video games, touchscreens, pushers, cranes, spares and accessories will be included in the range of equipment presented by exhibitors.

In addition to the exhibition there will be a programme of meetings, business presentations and social gatherings, continuing the show's reputation for bringing together Irish and international manufacturers, distributors and operators in a businesslike atmosphere. The fifth recipient of the annual Mary Openshaw Memorial Award For Excellence will be announced at the exhibition.

The number of international visitors and exhibitors has increased considerably in recent years, to include companies from Britain, USA, Spain, Germany, Austria, France, Russia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Belgium, Japan, Italy and Slovenia. Visitors will converge on Dublin’s Lynch Green Isle Hotel for the two most important days in the Irish Gaming & Amusement Trade Calendar, combining business activity and social events, to make an occasion not to be missed.

AmEx is organised by MD Associates, supported by IGAA - Irish Gaming & Amusement Association (Member Of Euromat) and sponsored by Coin-Op News. www.coin-opexpo.eu (E-02.13.08)
