IGT reaffirms commitment to going Green on Earth Day 2010

International Game Technology (IGT) announced its continuing pledge to implement green practices into its production activities. On the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, Thursday, April 22, many of IGT's employees contributed to the global cause, helping inspire awareness and appreciation for the environment. IGT offered employees the opportunity to bring e-waste and paper from home for disposal, shredding and recycling.

In addition, IGT shows its commitment to green by reducing, reusing and recycling: e-Waste; Cardboard and paper; Scrap metals; Plastics; Fluorescent light bulbs; Expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam packaging; NiCad and lithium batteries; Chemicals used in digital processing; Solvents, oils and other chemicals; and Shipping truck fuel and emissions.

IGT was ranked #170 on Newsweek’s Green Ranking list in 2009. The list is an exclusive environmental ranking of America's 500 largest corporations. IGT aims to rank even higher on Newsweek's 2010 list by implementing more ways to demonstrate eco-responsibility through the Company's production practices. IGT is eager to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, and stands behind its commitment to sustainability, reuse and recycling. (E-04.23.10)
