After the success of the Eastern European Leisure Exhibition 2004 it is expected that most of the available stands for 14-16 December 2005 will be booked by the end of next month. Russia is increasingly of major interest to manufacturers and service providers in the gaming industry, and this year saw a 40% rise in exhibiting companies.
Over 11,500 attendees made their way to the Moscow exhibition centre to see the products and services on offer from more than 200 international and local firms. Casinos, slot machines, amusements, billiards and bowling equipment were all represented, with the slots operations drawing around 70% of both exhibitors and visitors.
The show has grown considerably since 2003, and 70% of visitors were first-time attendees. The vast majority came from within Russia; only 10% were from abroad and came from 61 different nations. Over half the visitors came from the Moscow and St Petersburg areas but 327 locations around Russia were also represented. Russian regional operators and businesses at the 2004 show had grown by 25% from the previous year, and that figure is expected to show another marked increase in 2005.
Eelex has become a leading gaming industry show, an important date for the exhibition calendar. With such intensive growth of the Russian gaming market, the organizers of the event should have no difficulty in exceeding the success of this year’s exhibition in 2005.
