High quality playing cards at WSOP

Copag advertising campaign broadcast on ESPN

Copag, the leading playing card manufacturer in Brazil, will have an advertising campaign broadcast on ESPN in the USA, Canada and Latin America during the World Series of Poker transmissions, the largest series of poker tournaments in the world.

The video features scenes portraying the behavior and reactions of poker players during the game (i.e., players with high poker hands and bluffing players), intertwined with scenes featuring cards and gambling chips being handled. The commercial focuses on the high quality of Copag's playing cards, i.e. 100% playing cards perfect for dealing, as they do not get marked or creased and provide easier shuffling and sliding.

"By airing these films during the WSOP it will allow the Copag brand to be associated with the world-class Poker excellence. This campaign also aims to promote the Texas Hold'em as a sport", says Mariana Dall’Acqua Lopes, Marketing Director at Copag.

Copag's manufacturing facilities are located on the Manaus Complex (state of Amazonas, Brazil). The company exports its products to the United States and to a number of countries in Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania. Copag was founded in 1908 by Mr. Albino Gonçalves in the city of Sao Paulo (Brazil) and it celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2008.

Copag is the leading playing card manufacturer in Brazil, with a wide product portfolio including playing cards for kids and customized decks. Since 2005 it has been part of the Cartamundi group, the largest playing card manufacturer worldwide. In March 2008, Copag acquired 50% of Barajas y Naipes de Mexico stock, becoming a shareholder of the No. 2 playing card manufacturer in Mexico. Copag USA located in Florida is in charge of distribution in the USA and Canada. (E-08.17.09)
