City councillor Daniel Amoroso, who is also General Secretary of the Trade Union of Gaming, Entertainment, Recreation, Leisure and Allied Employees, has made a proposal to declare SAGSE 2006 an event of economic interest. The premier gaming and entertainment trade fair in Latin America was held at Costa Salguero exhibition centre in Buenos Aires on 11 - 13 October. Over 150 local and foreign exhibitors took part in the fair, including the National Tourism Bureau and the Argentine Chamber of Tourism.
“The fair has been considered an event of tourist interest by the National Tourism Bureau, given the close link between the tourist industry and the gaming trade. The former not only brings economic benefits for businessmen, workers and the State, but also is a powerful tool that boosts both directly and indirectly related trades,” highlighted Amoroso. He added “at this fair were present a wide array of equipment and technology vendors.
“Therefore, we can say that the gaming industry is a powerful economic and strategic tool in the achievement of economic development, and a great incentive to the tourist business as a whole. So it is vitally important to support events such as SAGSE, which position our city as a top tourist destination thanks to its gaming industry and world-class attractions,” ended Amoroso.
