ALAJA sponsors responsible gaming event

In Buenos Aires ALAJA, the Latin America’ Gaming Association, sponsored the First National Programmes of Responsible Gaming organized by APSA, the Argentine Psychiatry Association, and APAL, its equivalent regional association. The event was also sponsored by Casino Club, Casino Trilenium, Grupo Boldt, Casino Victoria, Codere, Casino Iguazu y el Grupo AGG, leading operators in the country.

During the event, gaming representatives of provincial institutions and operations also made presentations of gaming responsibility plans in aid of local problem gamblers and their close families. Some eleven responsible gaming problem directors from provinces such as Neuquén, Córdoba, Buenos Aires, Capital Federal, La Pampa, Formosa, San Juan, Santa Fe, Salta, Chaco and Mendoza interchanged ideas and experiences related to methods and results used in each of their programmes.

The leading argentine professionals in responsible gaming taking part were: Dr. Alfredo Cía, APALA President, Dr. Julio Brizuela, APAL and APSA Executive on pathological Gaming and Addictive Behaviour, and Dr. Guillermo Gabella, ALAJA Vice-President.

Gabella said that “there is proof of ALAJA’s firm stand and decisive business commitment to promote and support (problem gamblers) through Social Responsibility Business Programmes to develop events and activities similar to this one”. (E-06.20.11)
