Fifteen days before the opening of SAGSE-Centroamerica 2006, to be held in Panama the 25th and 26th of May, statistics provided by the organisation seem to indicate that it will be a success for both exhibitors and visitors. 13 European countries, 9 American, 2 Asian and one from Oceania will be represented on the 71 stands at the show.

The countries with the highest number of exhibiting companies are: Argentina with 16, followed by Panama with 11, The United States with 9, Russia with 5 and Spain with 4. The total number of exhibiting countries is 25. It is forecast that visitor numbers will double those last year, which were registered at 1,253.

Pedro Galindo, President of GRP Inversiones, organizational company of the exposition in Central America, declared: “It is obvious that the response of the gaming manufacturers and operators has confirmed that SAGSE-Centroamerica 2006 is the second most important exhibition of all Latin America and the Caribbean, immediately after SAGSE-Buenos Aires.

"Letting the opportunity pass of visiting or exhibiting in 2006 in Panama, would be –with all probability- a wrong decision. I find it clear that it is the only gaming show in this geographic area that can comply with the expectations of business for manufacturers and operators.

"Panama is a country that is safe, attractive, fundamental in commercial activity, and with a gaming sector that is very big and regulated very well. For this it has been selected as permanent location for SAGSE-Centroamerica.

I have to highlight the remarkable way that the yearly organisation of the 'American Congress of Gaming Regulators' allows the operators and manufacturers to speak informally with legislators and exchange their points of view. This does not occur at any other show or at any other type of event in the world. It is something very positive, for governments as well as businessmen.

If we add to this that this year nearly all multinational slot and classic Casino equipment manufacturers will be present at the exposition, we have all the ingredients for an important and nearly guaranteed success.”
