Mobile Gaming Solutions Plc (MGS), a leading provider of mobile and interactive gaming solutions, today announced that Mobile Holdings Systems Intl (Cyprus) Ltd (Mobile Holdings), through its Peruvian affiliate Corporation Galena, has launched its first text message based game in Peru earlier this week. Galena launched ‘El Pregunton’ (’The Question’), which is a text message based mobile raffle for the Peruvian market. Mobile Holdings is a strategic partnership focusing on developing mobile and online gaming businesses in South America and other regions. MGS is one of the three shareholders of Mobile Holdings.

The El Pregunton raffle, which is operated in co-operation with the incumbent mobile carrier in Peru, is aimed at creating market awareness for text message based gaming among Peruvian consumers. Other text message based games of chance, including a text message lottery, are expected to follow. Galena officials stated that they expect to receive an official lottery licence from the Peruvian government soon. MGS is the exclusive gaming technology provider to Galena / Mobile Holdings.

The raffle went live in Lima on July 21, 2008, and will initially run for six weeks, with the option for a renewal period for an indefinite period of time. The launch was embedded into a comprehensive launch marketing campaign including radio, newspaper, and billboard advertising. The cost to play is 2.00 soles (approx. US$0.66). All participants who enter the game with the correct answer are collected in a pool, and the winners are drawn each evening at 8 p.m. live on TV. The main prize each day is USD800, and there are several second and third category money prices, as well as free phone cards that are distributed to winners.
