Casino industry promotions to tempt back the players

CHAIRMAN TOWER TO OPEN

It seems that gas/petrol prices are really hitting the US casino industry hard. So hard in fact that the promise of Gas Back dollars is expected to tempt gamblers once again to get in their cars and drive back to Atlantic City. The Trump casinos are running just such a promotion from 1 September to 15 November. Gas Back dollars can be saved up by players of the slot machines or gaming tables and are valid for gas cards or cash up to US$2,500 through 30 November.

In another promotion, for those unconcerned by gas prices, there is a Lexus IS-F with a 5.0 V8 engine that will allow the lucky winner to unleash the power in the world's first 8-speed sport direct shift! There are also cash giveaway promotions of US$10,000 and US$50,000 running next month. It is not only Trump that is seeking new ways to bring in the punters. Mohegan Sun, which opens its new Casino of the Wind on Friday, has been offering free slots play but still sees gambling revenue falling. Whilst promotions may be buzzing many operators are cutting back on ‘comping’ budgets.

On Friday the brand new US$255 million Chairman Tower will open in Atlantic City. It will connect to the original Taj Mahal Tower via the Spice Road level and the 782 guest rooms, including 74 suites and three meeting rooms, each has a water view. The Chairman Tower will be one of the most luxurious hotels in Atlantic City. The company is running a series of promotions to tempt gamblers at other Atlantic City casinos to upgrade to Trump One Chairman status for a complimentary room and US$50 Comp Dollars. (E-08.27.08)
