Interactive gaming content provider, Gextech has strengthened its customer-facing profile in the international i-gaming sector following the opening of a new office in London. In addition, the company has made two high level UK-based appointments in a move aimed to gain greater market penetration for its innovative range of products for iTV, mobile, internet and terminal-based platforms.

Marc Campman is taking over as commercial director, whilst David Sidaway becomes technology and services director. Campman brings 25 years experience in the hi-tech telecoms and gaming sectors in a globetrotting career which has comprised senior positions within blue chip companies including Glu, Logica and IBM.

Campman was responsible for launching MMS whilst working for Logica’s SMS business and in 2002 helped set the Guinness World Record for sending the fastest SMS around the world. More recently, Campman helped Glu launch its mobile games delivery platform in Europe and Asia.

David Sidaway, a Cambridge University graduate in computer science, was the founder and chief software architect of software developers InfoMesh, apart from an impressive business knowledge with consulting roles at Accenture (formerly Anderson Consulting) and Rubus (formerly NVision), where he was responsible for major multi-million pound projects for clients including Granada Media and Thomas Cook.

Gextech chairman, Mark Campbell commented: “The UK is one of the world’s major betting markets and the current trend in liberalisation means that it has great potential for further development. Many of the world’s leading betting companies have their corporate headquarters in London, so our presence there is vital.”

Based in Barcelona, Spain, Campbell added: “It is essential that our commercial base in London is headed up by a progressive team of experienced professionals so the appointments of Marc and David will, I am sure, provide all the necessary impetus to help drive our business forward.
