International Game Technology (IGT), a global leader in creating the major slot games that players love and the casino network systems that improve the player experience, has announced that its games received eight awards in the Southern California Gaming Guide's "Best of Southern California Gaming Reader's Choice Awards." The awards will be featured in the October issue of the publication.

"We are thrilled to receive these latest awards," said Ron Rivera, IGT vice president of North America sales. "We are honored that players continue to name IGT games as their top choice. These awards from the Southern California Gaming Guide further confirm that IGT creates the best games in the market."

IGT's eight awards were the most of any manufacturer and included four number one wins: Best Reel Slot -- Wheel of Fortune; Best Penny Slot -- Star Wars; Best Progressive Slot -- Wheel of Fortune; and Best Video Poker Slot -- All-Star Poker. In addition to taking first place in the "Best Video Poker Slot" category, IGT also took second and third place with Super Times Pay and Double Double Bonus Poker.

Rounding out IGT's wins were two popular MegaJackpots games. Named in the "Best Progressive Slot" category was the top-performing Sex and the City Slot and chosen as one of the "Best Community Slot" games was the well-known eBay Video Slot.

The 2010 Reader's Choice Awards are detailed in the October 2010 issue of the Southern California Gaming Guide, available free at over 3700 locations in Southern California and online at TheGamingGuide.com. The 2010 Best of Southern California Gaming Reader's Choice Awards includes first, second and third place winners in 29 casino and slot categories, for a total of 87 awards. (E-10.04.10)
