Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has announced the appointment of two top gaming industry veterans for its rapidly expanding development team. Alan G. Boyd is a new Development Representative and is based in Washington, D.C., and Erin McGranahan is a new Development Representative based in the Las Vegas Service Center. In the year that marked GLI’s 15th anniversary, consolidating it as the world’s first private gaming device and systems testing laboratory, co-founder and GLI Vice President Paul G. Magno said:
“We have assembled the most technologically savvy team of engineers and mathematicians of any testing lab anywhere, and we are thrilled to have Alan and Erin join GLI to carry our technology message forward.” Boyd will pursue GLI’s development efforts in the areas of Tribal, charitable gaming, racing and lottery. Boyd has an extensive background to GLI, having most recently served as the Charitable Games Program Manager for the DC Lottery and Charitable Games Control Board in Washington.
McGranahan’s aim will be to develop the areas of Tribes, state gaming, lotteries and charitable gaming, primarily focusing on the Midwest. McGranahan’s extensive background in gaming will be most beneficial to GLI, especially as her most recent accomplishment was her appointment as Project Manager/Compliance Administrator for Caesars Entertainment.
GLI’s growth since Magno and President and co-founder James R. Maida set up the company in 1987 has been phenomenal, and after opening offices throughout the gaming territories the world over, decided to go on 24-hour service shifts at all their offices. GLI’s commitment is set out by Maida: “We are constantly seeking ways to improve our customer service, and the second shift is a direct result of that effort and real-life experience. We have had suppliers and regulators in our lab reviewing equipment on many occasions that required working late into the evening until the problem was solved. It was during one of these late nights that we realized this was a service we need to provide."
Last July, GLI became the first gaming test lab to be licensed in Panama. The company has been working mainly in the Caribbean region and Puerto Rico, and now works directly with the Panama Gaming Control Board. The licence period in Panama is for two years, where GLI’s skills in testing gaming devices and its general business approach throughout the gaming countries around the world should see the current term in Panama extended beyond the initial period.
Gaming Laboratories International, Inc. is the world’s most technologically advanced gaming device ands systems testing company, and currently operates wholly owned and fully staffed gaming test laboratories in Lakewood, N.J.; Golden, Colo.; Las Vegas, Nev.; GLI Europe, B.V. in Hillegom, The Netherlands; GLI Africa in Midrand, South Africa; and GLI Italia, in Bologna, Italy.
