Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) will not only be exhibiting at September’s G2E in Las Vegas, it will also be represented on key panels, host a regulators breakfast and release its first corporate DVD. 2005 has been a good year for GLI with increased certifications in Macau, a contract with a Jamaican private testing lab and an extension to an exclusive agreement with the Norwegian Gaming Board. GLI Italia recently completed its first full year of operation and the GLI website has expanded with a new tri-lingual European site.
Representatives from all eight GLI laboratories will be at G2E to discuss emerging technologies and their impact on worldwide jurisdictions. There will also be the opportunity to take advantage of scheduled lab tours of the GLI Las Vegas Service Center. The Regulators Breakfast is at 8:30 a.m. on September 13 in room N-110 at the Convention Center. It is open to regulators from around the world but they must sign up in advance. At 9:00 a.m. that day Todd Elasser, Executive Director of Engineering and Testing, will appear on the bingo panel “Cooperative Approach: Drafting, Crafting and Enacting Regulations”. On Monday 12 September, the GLI President and Co-founder James R Maida will present “Demystifying the Inner Sanctum: How a Game Testing Laboratory Really Works” at 3:30 p.m.
GLI’s first corporate DVD shows the inner workings of the company and includes a backstage view of the New Jersey headquarters and the Las Vegas Service Center. There are staff interviews and a discussion of GLI impact around the world. GLI was founded in 1989 by James R Maida and Paul J Magno as the first independent laboratory of its kind, and it now provides over 100,000 annual certifications to more than 400 gaming regulatory bodies. At G2E GLI will be in Booth #2083. (E-08.23.05)
