Dominican Republic to accept certifications

GLI ADVANCES IN THE CARIBBEAN

The Casino Commission in the Dominican Republic has joined the list of over 400 jurisdictions that accept certifications from Gaming Laboratories International (GLI). The Commission’s authorization will make GLI the first independent testing laboratory to have its certification reports accepted in the jurisdiction. This follows July’s success, also in the Caribbean region, when GLI won a contract in Jamaica to train staff at the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC) and to conduct a full software and hardware audit of the country’s gaming inventory.

GLI South American Development Representative Karen Sierra, who has been working with the Dominican Republic’s Casino Commission, commented, “This is positive news for manufacturers who are hoping to import their devices in the Dominican Republic. With the Casino Commission accepting our certifications, there will be little delay in sales when the Commission adopts standards.”

Manufacturers can apply for certification at any of the GLI locations around the world and the certificates will be issue through the company’s headquarters in New Jersey. Fully equipped gaming test laboratories are operated by GLI in Lakewood, Colorado; Golden, Colorado; Las Vegas, Nevada; Hillegom in The Netherlands; Midrand, South Africa; Bologna, Italy; and two accredited test laboratories under licence to GLI in Sydney and Adelaide, Australia.
