CC: Has BetStone developed more games after its landmark 100, especially some for the Latin American market?
AG: Our commitment to delivering content remains as strong as ever. It is not about the number, but about making sure that the demands of the players and our operators are met. We therefore continue to focus on ensuring that our customers use content to expand their market share, attract new player segments and increase market share in an increasingly competitive environment.
We have affirmed our strength in Class III and Class II slots and are starting to demonstrate our ability in the Video Poker and Table Game market. This year we continue to extend these product lines with new features and functionality and grow our Bingo portfolio.
CC: What is the level of growth in Latin American market?
AG: Levels of growth in the Latin American market differ from country to country. In Mexico, for example, we are seeing continued growth accompanied by increased competition. In Venezuela the market is facing increasing challenges to running smooth operations. In general, however, there is a growing acceptance of server based gaming as a means to cost effectively service the market. BetStone remains committed to investing in the Latin American gaming market and leading the trend towards server based gaming.
CC: What is the response of Latin American operators to Server Based Gaming?
AG: Many Latin American countries have led the way in accepting server based gaming and operators who have tried this technology have been receiving the benefits of this technology. We believe that this acceptance is due to the early use of Class II gaming which is a basic server based gaming technology.
BetStone’s customers have had a very positive response to the technology, particularly its ability to rapidly deploy new content. In addition to this, we provide our operators with powerful business intelligence tools and are in the process of rolling out upgraded modules for our CMS with more powerful reports that enable quicker and easier analysis.
What is of ultimate interest is the response of the players to server based gaming! We continue to see uptake of the product by the players as we are able to rapidly respond to their gaming preferences.
Ultimately, players play content and not platforms. It is for this reason that BetStone has been committed to content rollout and innovation and sees the initial 100 game rollout as soon to be left behind milestone on a very long journey. (E-05.04.10)
