Environmental preservation and conservation is the theme behind the Canada-based Asian Coast Development Limited (ACDL) casino resort project on Vietnam’s Ho Tram Strip. The natural beauty of the location on the southern coast of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province – white beaches and tropical vegetation - will be highlighted with innovative architecture. ACDL aims to provide a blend of relaxation and excitement as a luxurious alternative to Macau.
ACDL has now received permission to start construction on the US$4.2 billion 5-star casino resort and a groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Saturday. Former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien, listed as an ACDL consultant, will attend. The company’s advisory board also includes former Sands President Al Luciani and Glenn Schaeffer, formerly the CFO of Mandalay Resort Group and currently the CEO of Fontainebleau Resorts.
Phase I of the Ho Tram Strip will consist of two 5-star hotels with a combined 2,300 luxurious rooms and suites and Vietnam’s first Las Vegas-style casino - featuring live entertainment stages and an exclusive VIP area to compliment a gaming floor consisting of more than 500 slot machines and approximately 90 table games. The Ho Tram Strip is also expected to provide guests with astonishing recreational options: a Greg Norman designed championship golf course, an expansive and luxurious spa, state-of-the-art performance facilities, an engaging upscale retail experience and a wide selection of elegant dining facilities offering local and international cuisine.
The Ho Tram Strip lies about 100km from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s largest city and business capital that is home to over 6 million people. The entire 169 hectares of the Ho Tram Strip, featuring five Las Vegas-style integrated resorts, is scheduled to be completely developed and operational within ten years. According to ACDL, its first project, Phase 1 and 2, should be finished by 2011. (E-05.22.08)
