London gambling industry exhibition is bigger and busier than ever

BUSINESS IS BUZZING AT ICE 2007

The International Casino Exhibition at London’s Earls Court had a great opening day. Karen Cooke, ATE Show Manager, was happy to announce that the 2007 edition of one of the world’s favourite gaming expos has grown nearly 50% since last year. Today is expected to bring even more visitors and business for the hundreds of exhibitors showing their latest products and services.

London in January may not be the warmest place to hold an international trade show but ICE and its sister events ATEI and ICEi provide a very warm welcome to visitors. This year no fewer than 120 new companies have stands at ICE, coming from 31 international territories. With the blurring of the demarcation between casino games and amusements, 21 of the companies previously exhibited at ATEI.

One company that made the transition last year is ACE A&G from Korea. Yesterday its computer generated horseracing game, ACENET ASCOT with the very latest software graphics, was attracting much interest from visitors, ranging from members of the British Gambling Commission to local councillors and casino operators. Business was buzzing on Stand 3920 and many other stands – an excellent reason for exhibiting at the London show.

It’s a success story for more than individual exhibiting companies. The huge expansion of ICE 2007 is not only due to the fact that 45.5% of exhibitors are making a maiden appearance but also that over half of those returning after the 2006 show have increased the amount of space they have taken to show their products. ICE starts off the annual round of global gaming exhibitions and it is fast becoming the preferred choice of many in the industry. The stands for ICE 2008 are already in demand. (E-01.24.07)
