As of May 1, name plates and business cards changed at IGT Europe in anticipation of welcoming a new Managing Director. James Boje, formerly of IGT’s South African office, will take over the European operation responsibilities of Kurt Quartier, now Vice President International Casino Markets.
James Boje brings 20 years of gaming experience to the office - experience gained in both operations and distribution. At the tender age of 21, James began his gaming career in one of the Sun International casinos, Sun City as a technician and spent nine years with the company holding management positions for eight of those years. In 1994, he left the casino sector for career in manufacturing and distribution as General Manager of Sybertronix Gaming, currently known as ACE.
It wasn’t until January of 1999 that he joined the IGT Team in South Africa as Sales and Marketing Manager. Then, in just two short years, James was promoted to Managing Director.
Mr. Boje classifies himself as a ‘people person’ and says that he feels his success in the African office was due largely to an ever present goal of building and maintaining strong relationships with both customers and colleagues. “I’m a firm believer that companies that follow a good customer service ethic and enjoy a strong team spirit have the right ingredients. Those two things and IGT products are unarguably a recipe for success.”
International Game Technology (www.IGT.com) is a global company specializing in the design, development, manufacture, distribution and sales of computerized gaming machines and systems products in jurisdictions where gaming is legal. IGT Europe is headquartered in Amsterdam. (E-05.30.05)
