Taking further steps towards a full professional management structure of the family business and in order to strengthen and consolidate its leadership in the operation of their casinos in Spain, Grup Peralada has appointed Javier Picola as Managing Director of the Gaming Division.

Picola has extensive executive experience in multinational companies and family groups in various sectors and countries, and is an executive skilled in the planning, development and implementation of strategies for company growth and added corporate value. He holds a degree in Business Administration and MBA from ESADE and Master of International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management (Phoenix, USA).

Javier Picola will be responsible for the direction of the Grup Peralada’s 6 casinos, 4 in Catalonia and 2 in the province of Santa Fe, in Argentina, which employ about 1,500 people; reporting directly to Miguel Suqué, the Group’s Executive Vice President. In addition to maintaining and strengthening the company's leadership in the Spanish casino market, Picola’s priority will be to design and promote the expansion strategy of the game area of the Group into new markets and new business segments.

Javier Picola’s professional experience has been with Ophthalmic Lenses (INDO), as Director of Business Unit; Spanish gaming operators Cirsa Business Corporation, where he has held the positions of Director of the Casino Division, Director of International Division, and Director of Finance and Economic Control - International Division; with Paper & Packaging European Investment Corporation, as CFO; and The Firestone Tyre & rubber Company (Europe), as Financial Analyst.
