The Gaming Standards Association (GSA) is moving steadily toward finalizing its landmark Game-to-System (G2S) protocol standard. GSA's membership has completed a 30-day review and comment period on the protocol's core classes, and several application classes are now out for review. "Many of the participating companies are developing clients and servers based on the draft protocol, and we expect very little to change between the draft protocol and the final version," said Jim Morrow, VP of Advanced Development, Bally Technologies Inc., and Chair of the G2S Committee.
Next for the protocol is a committee meeting to be held later this month at member company GTECH's Rhode Island offices. From that meeting, GSA plans to release the core classes for member vote. The committee also plans to release the remaining application classes for member comment. Recently, GSA's board furthered their commitment and signed a letter affirming to use their best efforts within their companies to support and implement GSA standards by the November 2006 G2E.
