Octavian International and Livewire gaming have signed a contract to develop 15 all-new game titles for the European AWP market.
The new titles are being created for a number of jurisdictions including Belgium, Germany and Spain and are scheduled for release throughout 2008. The first title from the Octavian/Livewire collaboration, a video dice game called Pirates’ Paradice, has already been approved for the Belgian AWP market and is now being field tested by GAA (General Automatic Amusement) in Belgium.
Pirates’ Paradice has been designed to a specific GAA brief and features double-screen gameplay, a user interface designed for right and left handed players, animation and sound, and an exciting bonus game. A number of other AWP titles in the Octavian/Livewire series are being created to meet specific customer requirements, while other titles are being developed to extend Octavian’s overall AWP games portfolio. In both instances, the games can be adapted to meet the needs of specific jurisdictions in terms of language, payouts, graphics, color, sound or regulatory requirements.
Livewire Gaming Ltd is an independent company involved in the design and development of video and non-video based games for the European gaming market. Octavian, meanwhile, has achieved considerable success in the Italian and Spanish AWP markets through its Italian joint venture with EGG (Euro Gruppo Giochi) and with a range of in-house developed titles such as Commander Parrot, Spin & Win, Wild Card and Golden Chip, which all comply with Comma6 legislation.
Alan Claypole, Director of Doncaster, UK-based Livewire said, “Octavian’s success in the AWP market has created further demand and the need to accelerate AWP games development. We are delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate on this next series of games and to add Livewire’s own considerable experience and development resources to Octavian’s AWP offering.”
Steve McDade, Project Manager Europe at Octavian added, “The European AWP market is extremely exciting and challenging. Game developers need to be very focused on individual markets and very flexible and responsive if they are to succeed. We have recently been working on a suite of new Comma6A compliant games ahead of the new legislative changes in Italy, for example. The contract with Livewire will help us to continue our growth in AWP by ensuring we continue to meet customer needs with high quality tailored games, delivered rapidly at the right price.”
Another PACT gaming subsidiary, Take 1 Technologies, also develops AWP games for the Italian market. McDade added, “This new partnership with Livewire as well as the fact that Octavian is now part of the worldwide PACT Group, extends our combined portfolio of AWP titles and also the global reach of that AWP content.”(E-04.14.08)
