LOVE is described as bringing together the magic of Cirque du Soleil with the spirit and passion of The Beatles to create an intimate and powerful entertainment experience. Amongst Beatles purists the new show opening 30 June at the Mirage Las Vegas will doubtless find its critics – there are some radical changes in the remixed and digitized Beatles tapes. A cast of 60 international artists will interpret the songs through aerial performance, extreme sports and urban freestyle dance.

Since 2 June preview tickets have been on sale at a 25% discount for some performances before the official opening of LOVE. The gala opening will be attended by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the widows of John Lennon and George Harrison (Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison). Sir George Martin, original Beatles producer, and his son Giles are the show’s Musical Directors. George Martin came out of retirement at age 80 to create a soundtrack for the US$150 million production.

A unique soundscape of The Beatles music has been created for LOVE using the master tapes at Abbey Road Studios. The panoramic visual and surround sound in the custom-built theatre at The Mirage will envelop the audience who will experience The Beatles as never before. The 90-minute entertainment offers a loose retelling of the Beatles’ story with some 25 full songs and over 100 others represented.
