Las Vegas resort installs industry’s most advanced sports book gaming system

Miranda Technologies is Aria’s choice

Aria Resort and Casino, which opened in late 2009 as part of the CityCenter project in Las Vegas, has installed the industry’s most advanced race and sports book gaming system, based on video equipment from broadcast specialist, Miranda Technologies.

Darren Smith, AV Systems Consultant for the Aria Resort Project, said: “The new sports book offers a much more exciting gaming experience for our guests, and it also offers the casino unrivalled display flexibility for presenting real-time racing, sports and odds content. The ability to operate in real-time, much like an on-air production console, was key to the success of the project. The graphics are amazing, and overall the system is a dream to operate.”

The system is based on Miranda’s Kaleido-X16 multi-image display system, Vertigo XG graphics processors, and NVISION 8280 video router. With this system, an operator can instantly change layout configurations, and assign sports, racing or odds video feeds to any video display in the facility. An easy to use control interface, based on Miranda’s iControl system, simplifies the presentation of the displays, and provides a preview of the displays before changes are performed. A simple mouse click will execute all key tasks, such as re-assigning images to monitors and ticker changes.

The highly informative sports book is reminiscent of a very large sports bar, and includes more than 100 high definition video display panels. These displays include Barco NX4 LED panels and the latest generation of Panasonic 103” and 65” plasma panels, which can present up to 16 video streams with multiple graphics tickers. Around 100 satellite inputs and 40 other video inputs can be fed to any display in the bar, grill or book areas. The system can also accept signals for special events from the resort and the Convention Center.
