After Unicum's Slot Revolution comes World of Games

TWO JUNE EXPOS SHAKE MOSCOW

Just when the Argentinean expo double November act gets it together, and got it back to just one event, out comes a double June expo act in Moscow. The World of Games expo that will kick off tomorrow 9 and is set to run till 11 June comes after Unicum's June 1 Slot Revolution 12-hour programme with 18 expo stands. Reports indicate that the show organizers "discuss the possibility of running a similar slots sales event in the next year." There is no doubt that the Slot Revolution extravaganza was a massive success, because Unicum is an industry regional leader, and they do a great show with Eelex in December, which this year is set for 20-22. The point is, that as in Argentina, the industry does not need two gaming expos in one city in one month, let alone within ten days of each other.

Slot Revolution was dedicated to new slot products and solutions by major manufacturing and distributing companies including Unicum, IGT, Villart, Atronic, Game One, Jet Games, Casino Technology, Kare, KSI, Cats, Perfect, Rosgame, RIO, Systems in Progress, Slot Leasing, Fair Play, SmartGames and Unidesa. The gaming equipment presentation and business meetings started at noon and lasted for six hours, transferring into an entertainment show and a big concert. The main surprise of the Slot Revolution, the draw for an aircraft PIPER G3 CUB, went to a gaming operator from Tula, some three hours from Moscow.

The success of the Slot Revolution event is confirmed by the statistics, showing that it went beyond the organizers’ expectations and corroborated the forecasts about Russian operators’ interest in quality gaming equipment. There were 3,248 registered visitors from 16 countries, with a 60% attendance from Greater Moscow. Most of the remaining 40% travelled to Slot Revolution from the other Russian regions. The majority of visitors were gaming site managers, slot operators and technical specialists, and about 20% were casino and slot business owners, investors and top management decision makers.

Sergey Kazakov, Unicum’s Marketing Director and the head of the Slot Revolution organization committee, commented on the results of the event: "Slot Revolution overcame all expected results. All guests that had been invited to the show paid a visit to us. The show format was new to us and the gaming industry but we stood the challenge and made it an effective marketing activity. A bigger part of its success belongs to Slot Revolution participants who also positively evaluated Slot Revolution and already expressed their interest in further promotion cooperation in the next year."

World of Games 2005 Expo and Congress
The World of Games 2005 event at Moscow’s Crocus Expo Center, which boasts the highest international standards of design, construction and modern communications, opens tomorrow June 9 in the venue located near the main Moscow thoroughfare. Companies such as EGT, TCS John Huxley, Nova Desitec, Aristocrat, AlfaStreet, JCM and Fournier are just some that will be exhibiting their products alongside Russian companies such as Kare, Fair Play, Gem, etc. The purpose of any exhibition is to promote a business dialogue among experts. World of Games 2005 will bring together leading Russian and foreign manufacturers and providers of gaming and entertainment equipment, in a comfortable business atmosphere that will allow exhibitors to show their achievements, find valuable contacts and expand their sales.

World of Games 2005 Expo and Congress also provides a framework of conferences and seminars on the challenges of the Russian gaming market. There will be two pavilions, one for the casino and gambling market and the other for the amusement and leisure market. The World of Gaming pavilion will have stands for slot machines, casino and gaming equipment and accessories, security and surveillance equipment, consulting companies and recruitment agencies. The World of Entertainment pavilion will show amusement machines and leisure equipment, including billiards and bowling.

In Russia today gaming is one of the fastest growing areas of the leisure industry, and Moscow is leading the trend. As shown by the success of Slot Revolution, all the regions of Russia are showing increasing business activity in the gambling sector and there is a pressing need for exhibitions, practical seminars and conferences. With the aim of addressing this need there is to be a congress, with an authoritative specialized B2B, to celebrate the achievements of the modern leisure industry, primarily focused on industry professionals. The Russian regional market is ready for further gaming expansion, and World of Games 2005 will be an excellent step in assessing further opportunities. (E-06.08.05)
