Opening bell rings for Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc.

TRMP TRADES ON NASDAQ

Company Chairman Donald Trump together with members of the Board of Directors and senior management will celebrate the commencement of trading as TRMP on the NASDAQ Stock Market by ringing the opening bell at 9:30 a.m. (Eastern) today. Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc., the renamed company that emerged from the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings for Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts, previously started trading its new common stock shares on the over-the-counter-market on 23 May 2005. The company’s Class A Warrants, issued in connection with recapitalization, will continue to be traded over the counter.

Trump Entertainment Resorts owns and operates four casino resorts in the United States, three in Atlantic City and one in Gary, Indiana. Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Plaza and Trump Marina have suffered in comparison to other Atlantic City properties by lack of funding for refurbishment, something that the new company will seek to address with its recapitalization. As Donald Trump stated, “The listing of our common stock on NASDAQ marks not only the formal end to our successful recapitalization expeditiously completed this past May, but also the beginning of our Company’s bright new future.”

The commencement of trading on the NASDAQ is seen as increasing the company’s visibility in the financial community and broadening the base of potential investors. Trump Entertainment Resorts has restructured US$1.9 billion of debt by declaring the previous company bankrupt in November 2004. Prior to that the Trump Taj Mahal was made bankrupt in 1990. Some analysts feel that even with recapitalization Trump Entertainment Resorts will face an uphill battle to be able to compete with other Atlantic City properties, particularly the Borgata where the already impressive venue is being revamped to the tune of US$520 million. With two bankruptcies already in the gaming industry, it’s not a great track record for The Donald. (E-09.20.05)
