On June 30 the Monticello Grand Casino & Entertainment World in Chile – a joint venture operation of Novomatic and the renowned South-African casino and resort group Sun International Limited – celebrated its reopening. Latin America’s biggest casino resort with 1,500 slots, 100 live gaming tables and a five-star hotel had to be temporarily closed after the earthquake in February due to damages and safety considerations. Now after the completion of the necessary renovation and refurbishment work the casino again welcomes its guests in full splendour.
On June 1st the Casino Dragonara in San Julian on the Mediterranean island Malta commenced operations. In May the 100-percent Novomatic subsidiary Austrian Gaming Industries GmbH, as part of the Novomatic Peninsular Consortium, won the tender for the 10 year concession for the operation of the casino. The casino is now operated by the newly founded company Dragonara Ltd and offers its guests state-of-the-art Novomatic gaming equipment amongst others.
Franz Wohlfahrt, CEO Novomatic AG: “These investments into premium gaming operations abroad also help to secure our more than 2,700 jobs in Austria“. The Novomatic Group of Companies now operate more than 800 casinos, electronic casinos, and sportsbetting outlets. (E-07.09.10)
