With a population of nearly 20,000 the town of Svilengrad in Bulgaria lies just minutes away from the state boundaries of Greece and Turkey. The town, once known as Kinekli, was famous for silkworm breeding and was renamed in 1874 (Svila – silk; grad – town). Excellent communication links make Svilengrad a major transportation hub and host to multi-national wine production facilities.

On 20 July 2007 the Pleasure Company AD opened the Nymphes Princess Casino followed by an official opening on 12 October. The casino has table games and slot machines plus two bars, a restaurant and stage for live performances. The Pleasure Company has also rented and refurbished a 27-room motel in the town centre for the exclusive use of Casino patrons.
