Over 150 casino games plus iPoker

OEG launches online casino

On 21January the Estonian Tax and Customs Board issued Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG) subsidiary Olympic Casino Eesti AS with the country’s first online gambling licence. On Wednesday the company launched Olympic-Online.com in cooperation with the world’s leading casino software developer, Playtech. On offer are over 150 different casino games and an ability to play poker in the world’s largest poker network iPoker.

Playtech provides software products and related solutions for the leading gaming operators. iPoker poker network powered by Playtech is one of the largest independent poker networks that includes more than 120 different poker rooms and hosts at prime time more than 30,000 simultaneous players. The company has 800 people working in five development centres all around the world, oldest of which is located in Tartu, Estonia.

Olympic Casino Eesti AS unaudited revenues for the year 2009 totalled 360.9 million EEK (€23.1 million), a decline of 47.8% from the previous year. In July 2009 OEG liquidated its Ukrainian casinos following that country’s decision to suspend all casino operations. The company closed a total of 49 land-based casinos in the first half of 2009 and another 18 in the third quarter but continues to operate in seven European countries. (E-02.12.10)
