PGS 2010 moves to Maria Angola Hotel and Convention Centre

San Roman is Keynote Speaker at Lima Conference

Soon after they announced moving the Peru Gaming Show 2010 to Maria Angola Hotel and Convention Centre, we received a Sunday telephone call with the news that Manuel San Román, Director General of local gaming regulators DGJCMT, had accepted an invitation to present the Keynote opening address at the event’s IV Latin American Gaming Conference. The address, which is titled: “Current Situation of DGJCMT and its Future Plans”, will be in the Salón Campana of the Maria Angola at 12 midday, on August 11.

For several years now, the Peru Gaming Show has been in need of a better venue to host the country's principal gaming industry expo and one of the main Latin American shows; and the news of its timely move to the Maria Angola Hotel and Convention Centre for this year's 11-12 August date has been well received.

CGS Group, event organizers issued a press release saying that "after long negotiations and coordination, they had secured the new venue on Avenida La Paz and Schell in fashionable Miraflores", within 150 metres from the newly built casinos Atlantic City and Fiesta. The venue is also less than a mile away from Casino Majestic at the Marriott Hotel, Casino Hotel La Hacienda and Casino del Club Miraflores, also the most exclusive social club in the country. That is to say that the PGS 2010 will be closest to five of the principal casinos in the country.

Beautiful Miraflores is the commercial capital of Peru, where other sumptuous casinos and slots operations offer the latest gaming machines in the market. Five star Los Delfines Hotel & Casino is close by, north west, in neighbouring and chic San Isidro, home also to other smart slots operations, while the fabulous Golden Palace Casino is a couple of miles down the way north west of Miraflores. A few miles north, the Lima's Strip in Avenida La Marina has an array of slots gaming halls, while next to San Isidro to the south, San Borja also boasts some ten slots venues.

In a word, most of the main casinos and slots gambling halls are within a few miles radius from the Maria Angola, as it is locally known. In a telephone conversation, the PGS 2010 organizers confirmed that: "The benefits in this change of venue are without doubt for the best of exhibitors and visitors to our event."

For those who have not visited Peru, please rest assured that Miraflores is one of the prettiest cities in the world. Built on the Pacific Ocean coast as a spa in the 18th Century, the city is in the midst of parks, luxury hotels, exquisite restaurants, specialist ceviche restaurants for some of the finest fish and seafood in the world, quality commercial outlets, plus the Huaca Pucllana archeological centre, a treasure with sampling of pre-Columbian relics from the millennium cultural tradition of Peru, and hosting also one of the choicest local food restaurants.

Additionally, within the frame of the PGS 2010, during 11-12 August, the IV Latin American Gaming Conference has secured the participation of quality international speakers with a selection of seminars and conferences.
