Biggest televised poker deal ever

FOX SPORTS & MANSIONPOKER.NET

A three-year agreement has been reached between MansionPoker.net and Fox Sports (FSN), establishing the POKERDOME SERIES as the largest televised poker deal in history. The high stakes, new formats and ground-breaking technology are all highlighted in three multi-million dollar winner-take-all mega events.

The first event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 12 July 2006, exactly six months from today. The biggest single-day payout in the history of sport will see six players vie for the US$60 million prize pot at Melbourne’s Crown Casino. Amazingly in years 2 and 3 of the agreement the mega payouts will increase to US$75 million in 2007 and US$100 million in 2008.

The POKERDOME SERIES will commence Sunday, May 15 2006 on FSN owned and affiliated regional sports networks, continuing for 43 consecutive weeks. The circuits feature a winner each week who will collect a US$5,000 purse and earns a seat at the final table of that circuit. A win there results in a spot at the US$1,000,000 winner-take-all series championship table. MansionPoker.net has added one more high-impact twist to the mix, ‘Speed Poker,’ a format that gives players only 15 seconds to make a decision.

The first mega stand-alone tournament will be held in Australia and will feature six selected players who will be named at a rate of one a month and who will buy-in for US$10 million. Paul Ivey, regarded as one of the world’s leading Texas Hold ’Em players, was named last month. The second player will be unveiled during the FSN coverage of the 2006 Aussie Millions tournament.
