Automated poker tables installed in Mexico

Televisa chooses PokerTek

Grupo Televisa is the largest media company in the Spanish-speaking world and operates gaming venues in Mexico with its wholly owned subsidiary Apuestas Internacionales SA de CV. Under the PlayCity brand the company has gaming centres in over two dozen cities with sports betting and electronic gambling machines. PokerTek automated poker tables have been selected by Televisa and so far have been installed at two locations in Mexico City.

“PlayCity’s properties are impressive, and include the latest gaming technology,” said Mark Roberson, PokerTek’s Acting CEO and CFO. “We are pleased to be selected by such a prestigious company as their supplier, and look forward to adding units into their other properties as quickly as possible.” PlayCity has made commitments to PokerTek for 34 units.

PokerTek is headquartered in North Carolina and develops and markets products for the gaming and amusement industries. The company developed PokerPro automated poker tables to increase revenue, reduce expenses and attract new players into poker rooms by offering interactive poker that is fast, fun and mistake-free. Initial units were installed at two premier PlayCity venues in Mexico City: two units at PlayCity Armand and three units at PlayCity Antara. (E-12.01.09)
