The local newspaper described the sale of slot machines and electronic roulettes as going like ‘hot bread’. Last Thursday the Business Round organised by 3A Producciones at the Marriott Quito Hotel brought over 25 gaming distributors and manufacturers together with local casino operators, and business was booming.

According to FADJA Director Jose Anibal Aguirre, investors have been interested in the Ecuador market since 2002. New casinos are opening in Quito, including Montecarlo Casino, Hotel Quito and Casino Plaza Caicedo, and for that reason Ecuador was added to the list of Business Round events, which also cover Venezuela, Peru and Colombia.

English company Boss Gaming has recently opened a manufacturing plant in Bogota, Colombia for supplying the growing Latin American market. Company President Linda Monzon commented that contact had been made with nearly all the casino operators in Ecuador and that considerable sales of the Boss electronic roulettes had resulted. “All the participants at the Business Round were enchanted by this novel idea of a ‘meeting point’ to do business.”

Companies represented came from Colombia, the USA, Spain, Argentina, Germany, Holland, England, Mexico, Venezuela and Ecuador. Amongst the companies present were IGT, WMS, Money Controls, JCM American, Atronic, Electrochance and Mundo Video.
