After one day of gambling at Pittsburgh’s new Rivers Casino, The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) informed that the state took in nearly half a million dollars in tax revenue, while local government received US $51,403, and the economic development trust fund US $64,253.
On Sunday, the Rivers brought in US $14 million in wagers, yielded a gross gaming revenue of US $1.6 million, according to PGCB the audited figures. According to the regulators, it was the third largest debut for a Pennsylvania casino to date. The casino’s two test runs on Wednesday and Friday yielded another $304,864, from wagers of $3.7 million. Th Rivers Casino operate 3,000 slots gaming devices.
Las week, the PGCB reported that all 8 casinos in the State generated an
average of US $3.2 million in tax revenue daily during the month of July, totaling US $179.2 million in GGR, which is up 18.5 percent from the US $151.2 million generated in the same period of 2008. The Philadelphia Park Casino and Racetrack in Bensalem generated US $30.8 million in July, 1.46% less that July 2008, whilst Harrah’s Chester Casino and Racetrack had US $27.3 million in revenue, a 1.71% decline from US $27.7 million in July 2008.
